Physics Trivia : Any force on the body sitting on a chair?

When you do not move to sit down on a chair, a force is working on the body ?

Not only the gravity of the earth (downward force) but the normal component of reaction (upward force) from a chair is working. 

Therefore, the body is standing still. Gravity and a normal component of reaction are the same strength.
