What belief was Galileo (1564-1642) forced to withdraw by the Inquisition in 1633?
 The Copernican theory of Copernicus which is that the earth revolved around the sun. 
Galileo wrote the Copernican theory in the book called "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems" in 1632. The Inquisition was held on this and heretical judgment was given in 1633. 
In 1992, the Pope Paul sixth admitted that this judgement was wrong.
Galileo discovered the isochronism of the pendulum (the nature which shakes by the fixed cycle) in one of later years even while blindness of both eyes.
